Sedation can ease the discomfort and anxiety related to having a procedure performed. We offer IV sedation by a board certified anesthesiologist to provide this service who will monitor you throughout your procedure. The medication is administered via a small IV placed just before the procedure. The patients take a 5 to 15-minute nap during the procedure while being monitored under the careful eye of the anesthesiologist. The medications used have a very high safety profile and a very short half-life. Patients can expect to be fully awake 10 minutes after the procedure with very little residual sleepiness for the remainder of the day with no concerns for nausea or vomiting. This option is covered by insurance.
