June Lee, M.D. MBA

Medical Director and Co-Founder

Dr. Lee is a Medical Director of Chicago Pain and Wellness Institute (CPWI). Dr. Lee is Board Certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology and has been practicing anesthesiology for nearly 15 years. Prior to CPWI, Dr. Lee served as the Vice Chairperson of the Department of Anesthesiology at Alexian Brother’s Medical Center. Dr. Lee’s many professional achievements include appointment by the Governor to the Illinois State Board of Health, selection as the Vice President of the Medical Staff at Alexian Brother’s Medical Center, and service as a medical board member of a Chicago public health clinic.

Dr. Lee has been a lifelong Chicagoan. She completed her undergraduate education at The University of Chicago and obtained her Medical Doctorate at Rush Medical College in Chicago. After obtaining her M.D., Dr. Lee completed an internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a residency in Anesthesiology at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center. Dr. Lee also has a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Lee has a passion for delivering healthcare to her patients through compassion and empathy. As a licensed anesthesiologist, Dr. Lee provides effective and appropriate anesthesia for patients at CPWI that desire sedation during their pain procedures. In addition, she is the Director of CPWI’s innovative IV Hydration Clinic, where patients can receive resuscitative fluids intravenously to combat dehydration and receive vitamin therapy to maximize their health and well-being. Dr. Lee specializes in IV nutrient therapies to address addiction as well as chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, chemotherapy and radiation stress, and tissue and wound healing problems.

Outside of her professional career, Dr. Lee enjoys running long distances, hiking (especially in our National Parks), and gardening. She is passionate about volunteering and has traveled to Colombia on numerous occasions to provide free corrective surgery to children with birth defects and has donated countless hours to other local charities. She lives in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with her husband, two children, and her dog.

Joseph David Belmonte, D.O.

Medical Director and Co-Founder

Dr. Belmonte is a Medical Director and Co-Founder of Chicago Pain and Wellness Institute. Dr. Belmonte is Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Belmonte has been practicing Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Medicine for 5 years. Prior to founding CPWI, Dr. Belmonte was a partner in the department of anesthesiology at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, and he also served as the Medical Director of Pain Management for Alexian Brothers.

Dr. Belmonte was born and raised in Elmhurst, IL where he attended high school at Immaculate Conception serving as the President of the National Honor’s Society. He then attended the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign earning a degree in finance and Spanish with a concentration in pre-medicine, along with the recognition of The Dean’s List. Following his undergraduate education at The University of Illinois, Dr. Belmonte earned a degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, continuing a family tradition of many prior CCOM graduates. Dr. Belmonte completed training in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, where he earned the highest recognition and honor bestowed upon his graduating class, The Robert D. Dripps M.D. Memorial Award.

Dr. Belmonte’s focus at CPWI is on Interventional Pain Management, pain therapy through interventional procedures. Dr. Belmonte recognizes the disastrous consequences that over-prescribing of medication and narcotic dependence have had on society, and his aim is pain reduction with minimal medication usage. In addition to interventional therapy for chronic back pain, Dr. Belmonte is highly specialized in Spinal Cord Stimulation, CRPS treatment, Radiofrequency Ablation, Kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fractures, and Botox therapy for chronic migraine and cervical dystonia.

Dr. Belmonte recognizes the importance that wellness has regarding pain management outcomes and has created a fully integrated Wellness Center at CPWI which will include psychological therapy with an onsite psychologist, dietary and hormone replacement therapy, and an IV hydration center for vitamin infusions and detoxification. Dr. Belmonte is also certified in Botox, dermal fillers, and skin rejuvenation for cosmetic wellness, and he has performed thousands of cosmetic injections over the last 5 years.

In addition to a demanding career in pain management and wellness, Dr. Belmonte serves as a Board Member for the Will B Foundation, a charity that honors his nephew who has Cystic Fibrosis and has raised over $200,000.00 to help find a cure for CF. Dr. Belmonte also enjoys travelling, cooking, music, and sports. He resides in Chicago with his two Bulldogs, Zara and Zoey.
